When we moved here I was a bit afraid nothing good would come out of this room: it looked so small. But previous owners had all walls painted grey and there was an odd dark wood shelf above the window (which I took benefit of by painting it white - totally ad hoc). Her room is all about natural wood and beige with splashes of red, white and yellow. That color scale vision I had long before we moved here. The toys on the window shelf are from Russia and Japan, little polka dot suit cases are from Etola. I am also very happy with the carpet choice, it is from Ikea. And the most dear item is Brio stove in red. I have been dreaming about it for quite some time as I think it is so stylish. And both kids seem to love to play with it. Now I am still looking for new curtains to her room (next shopping stop - Marimekko factory outlet) and wooden play food and dishes.
Let me introduce a little treasure that I found today in a flea market of kids stuff but it has found its place on our dining table. For many months I have been a bit obsessed with a white open shelf shaped like a house. I saw similar in several blogs, I asked in shops, I browsed. But have not found. Ideally, I was looking for a big shelf for toys but I have found a mini version of such but just as lovely. Here it is. Maybe I will gather trip memories into it and every time we have a family dinner we can recall those travel moments together...
