Weekend Moments...

I like the feeling of starting weekend, even when on maternity leave I like to keep the tradition of something special for Friday night dinner, a little bit goodies eating on Saturday and movie watching in the evening when kids are asleep.

This weekend was a carrot muffin weekend. We baked so many that there was enough even for 2 guests.

A Day in the City: Kluuvi Fashion Market

Despite liking my hobby - Street Dance - very very much, I really suffer from the consequences of the classes: knee injuries. Bruises and joint twists. Unfortunately, any modern dance has that challenge - to save your knees from damages. And I did twist my knee quite badly yesterday. It did not prevent me and Leo from visiting the Indiedays organized Kluuvi Fashion Market today. There were a few Finnish design brands presented in a back room of Kluuvi top floor.  I saw Jukka Rintala in his cosmic leather boots with my own eyes.

Note the necklace on the doll - it is made of soft leather. It was definately my favourite piece out of the whole Market. They had it in black and bronze too.

After checking the fashion landscape we took some tea in the organic bar downstairs. I love the shabby chic of the furniture in the cafe.

And look what I digged out of my closet. A satchel by Michael Kors in beautiful tan leather and beautiful golden hardware. It accompanied me to Kluuvi. The good thing is that my hands are free and the hardware is very very light.

And here is the first French Connection store in Finland - ground floor of Kluuvi. Welcome!

Florals & Tan

There is some backlog in my posts, as I have been a bit busy with ... apartment search, which drives me insane stresses me a bit.

So, this was my Wednesday outfit. First time this floral Asos sweater went for a walk.

Knit sweater - Asos
Navy trousers - H&M
Tan suede bag - Zara
Watch - Skagen
Floral ring - Accessorize

KIDS KIDS KIDS

I am not the first mum who loves dressing her kids up, I know. Only now, with the second child, I learnt to buy clothes that a child actually needs and that last long enough.

I like colourful clothes for small people because they also educate them. I will never be the mum who dresses her lovely children in Burberry plaid and Gant stars. I want a knight shirt for my son and a story sweater for my daughter. And here they are.

"Once upon a time a very naughty girl who ate a lot of candies turned into a rag doll", Sweater by Mayoral.

Knight t-shirt by SmÄfolk.

Digital photoprint t-shirts by Molo Kids brought from Copenhagen. Below Leo wearing one of them in the airport.

And little girl in black and star print - does not look that bad, you see. :)The handbag is from Copenhagen Disney store.

Pretty in Lilac

Minor detail can light up a day. When I was pregnant, both times, in fact, I was obsessed with manicures, especially in bright colours. I figured out why: when you can not come up with something special in an outfit - handbag or nailpolish save the game. Today I put one of my newbies - a perfect shade of lilac by H&M and my JC leather bow on a wrist to double the feminine effect. I like. Put me in a jazz mood...

New Home: Missoni

No idea where we will live this Spring and it starting to be a bit stressful. But I know how I would like to decorate my new home. I am addicted to Missoni colours and zigzag. Guess how pleasantly surprised I was to find a new Missoni Home boutique on Bulevardi in Helsinki.

White walls and floors, Missoni colourful textiles and a touch of dark wood - that's what my dream home is made of...

Plastic Rococo

Going through the family pictures from the memory box...There is always a good reason  to change photo frames.

This time I fell for a cheap & chic Ikea option in white plastic (very impressed by the mechanism of placing the back side of the frame - so easy!), so very rococo. Makes a very fresh impression. I like how it goes with the modern posters on the background.

Enchanting prints by Katrantzou

Designer collections for high street chain stores have become obsession for many. I still do not own anything like that! but this time around I was very very close to pressing the "Buy" button. Mary Katrantzou for Topshop. I browsed the netshop the day before it came and it was not there. I browsed ON the day and it was sold except 1 tunic. Good news - the dress of my dreams is supposed to be in stock next week, maybe tomorrow. Don't you love the amazing beauty of clashing prints by Mary K?

Cafe/shop Lillan - Mums Paradise

Today after the routine doctor check for Leo we visited a very special place: a shop/cafe which sells cool clothes, toys and interior items for kids and provides an opportunity to watch sea with a cup of tea in your hand sitting in an antique leather armchair. Sounds perfect? It is.

The shop sells Blafre products and we couldn't resist the flags in brown/yellow colours. Actually, it was totally Leo's fault that they came along home. He loved them! Laura got a tunic and leggings by Villervalla.

I Wish: Celine Boston Bag

Being a bit of a bag freak (I admit) I have been recently eyeing the wonderfully elegant and classy Celine's Boston.

I like the newest three-tone versions and a sand single colour one a lot. Don't you think this bag channels understated elegance and style?

Those Words...

Today I live a routine - organizing kids clothes and toys, cooking, having a walk. And looking for new home. It is incredibly tiring. Our current home is going to good hands, but we do have pressure to find something as good - at the very least.

When routine and stress hits I appreciate those words...that keep us all going. The words of love.

Neon Pink & Nude

Today my inspiration was a combination of neon pink and nude beige layered together. I also like the texture of rough knit and the see-through effect of it. I wanted to emphasize the knit structure by adding my Cos chain jewelry and a neon/tan colour wrap bracelet. Guess the shoes - my Billi Bi motorcycles. This weather can't wear anything else.

Cotton/polyester beige knit - Kappahl
Neon pink jersey long top - H&M
Jewelry - COS
Watch - Michael Kors

Also some newbies in my nailpolish closet - shades of violet and neon green - all by H&M. For a lazy dresser - the saviours. :)

Red Lipstick, Paillettes and Old Good Shoes

I guess the weather is changing to warmer at last as I had to drag myself for a pram walk through a horrible snowstorm. Well, it is Valentines Day still. But I feel like piano playing, eating chocolate and watching movies. INDOORS.

Anyway, to make an effort and after running out of entertainments for Leo I decided to use red lipstick. And you know, French are right, it makes a lot of difference. But what I did not expect is that Leo was totally crazy about it. He could not stop laughing. Maybe because I looked like a clown. Anyway, been outside and people were holding the laugh at least rather well. :) The sweatshirt with paillettes is old by Mango, Leo loves sparkling things a lot. It is not very practical with a very small baby (tried and failed) but now it is one of the ways to make him laugh. So I was a walking entertainment today. Anyway, something for myself as well - my very favourite and comfortable and cool motorcycle boots by Billi Bi, a Danish brand, by the way. There homepage has the latest designs in appetizing brights, so watch out. :)

And a small pleasant surprise, I got 1 bunch of tulips for free at the local shop. I bought 1 but the cashier guy told to take the second one - just because...I like to think I got the purple ones for free. :)

Let us hope the snowstorm will turn into sunshine...
