Asos Order Arrived :)

Little happiness of a winter day with 2 kids indoors until early afternoon - postman ringing the doorbell and delivering my Asos order - the 3 sweaters, that you will soon see in this blog for sure. Because I really loved them all. I got disappointed on Asos clothes more than once, but this was a very successful order. Plus, happy to be able to wear size 10 again.

Another morning event: Laura (crazy about handbags, she never leaves home without one) got one of my old bags - a little Chanel style cross-body one. So happy and excited she was...

And for the visit to Russian embassy to receive the little lady's passport I wore this new sweater. Bonjour!

Leather bracelet with studs - Bijou Brigitte.
P.S. I do look tired. :) Nice to realize.

New Cafe + Low Budget Fun

Every city girl becomes genuinly happy when she gets to find a new cool cafe and to shop low budget designer inspired items.

So did I this morning. A new cafe "Tiedekulma" ("Science corner") is opened in Aleksanterinkatu in place of the old kid store. It is a university cafe, hence the name. I like its spacy hall, shelves full books and healthy menu consisting of salads, quiches and smoothies. Organic design also looks very cool.

If that was not enough, I encountered an amazing designer look necklace + bracelet in Monki in black/white/neon shades. Love at first sight. Total cost 6 Eur. :)

Deja vu?  Marni bracelets below (circa 200 EUR at YOOX).

And a stylish girl's dessert - not for me, for Laura - cupcakes with PINK topping from Stockmann. Yummy.

Spring Alert: Floral Dress

OK, I've had enough. Not interested in winter outfits anymore. I experienced pure happiness when I saw this floral pattern on a jersey dress in Indiska store. The print is very flattering and very Marni-ish, I think. I like its earthy yet bright tones.

I loved the pattern so much, i actually returned to the store, as I didn't get the dress at once when I saw it. I wanted to emphasize the ethnical notes of the dress and picked my old Zara necklace and Zara suede wedges to complete this outfit (that did not make it outside my home, of course).

The dress is actually very versatile. It can be worn without leggings in summer with gladiator sandals and my Marc Jacobs Petal on the Metal bag. Or to work with a business jacket. Bingo. And it feels like I have a sweatshirt on. Pure organic cotton.

All that is missing is +15C outside, 4 kg less body weight and 4 hours more night sleep.

P.S. I hope my readers are inspired by florals in this post. I love to see people wearing patterns. In Finland it is not very common, though.  Exception- Marimekko. But otherwise...a bit dull out here.

P.P.S. Thank you for nice comments outside this blog, I have received quite a few. I hope to see your comments in the blog and you as readers as well!

Metal & Punk

One piece of clothing really remained in my mind from a very inspirational blog by Camilla - the metallic jeans. I definately did not intend to get anything like that for myself. But H&M has that feature, like Ikea - you get what you do not need and maybe will not use. :) Here is the result.

Metallic jeans - H&M
Angora knit - Gina Tricot
Metal tribal necklace - Indiska from ages ago
Skull scarf - Glitter
Studded bracelet  - Glitter
Watch - Lacoste
Makeup - none :=)

Why it's Really Worth to Wait for Women's Day

This year it is. Totally worth of waiting for 08.03.2012. If you do not get flowers (you can buy them for yourself, of course) you get to shop for Marni's colourful creations at H&M. I love Marni for retro prints. Soft italian chic...

This winter I am especially impressed by their bone jewelry. Colour rules. And what shapes...

So 08.03 is marked into my calendar in a happy colours of Marni.

Warm scarf + Almond cakes = Thursday

Frost has reached a crazy figure of -19C and that is when there is no business for humans outdoors.

I had to go to a food store anyway. Picked the warmest scarf I had :))

I have been checking those almond cakes (Runeberg cakes) in the shops for some time already (they appear around end of January) and today saw the whole family of them and could not resist anymore. The actual Runeberg's Day is this Sunday, 05.02.2012. The cakes celebrate Runeberg's wife's creative cooking - out of components that are available at home. That is what the story behind the cakes says. I love the rich almondy taste of them. And aren't those babies just cute? All from Stockmann.

Lady in Pink

Today is a fitness day, -14C outdoors so officially "no-boring-pram-outdoors-walk" weather. Deliberately we went for a Core class with Leo. The class was aimed at core muscles workout, i.e. stomach. Good for me! Leo tolerated well 30 min, preferred singing and looking at female...eyes though. Other babies tried to imitate mum's moves, but he had own thoughts on that one. And of course, who was the first in the micro corner...Our man.

Reason I like working out nowadays is that it is million times lighter than my other activities. 3rd floor, no elevator, 12 kg baby et al. Muscle pulls and back aches are not rare for me. But - no complaints!! In short, working out is MY time and I love it. Tomorrow is the Street Dance class which is my absolute favourite.

February is here and what does it mean? Valentine's, of course. Romantic gift for my husband - tick, restaurant reservation for 14.02 evening - tick, pink outfit - TICK!

Some undefinable force has made me buy pink jeans, those 19.90 EUR ones in H&M window. I have been checking colour denim for some time and never thought it was for me...Plus brights is such a cliche in 2012 Spring. Shops are full of pink, turqouise, canary yellow, orange red...All that will be in thrift stores and flee markets in June, you'll see.  But I decided to go all the way and I did wear this today. With not too glamorous snow boots and white down coat, but it didn't look bad. Or I am just anxious about Valentine's too much...You decide. ;)
